Soundtrack album from the television series Miami Vice, featuring songs by composer Jan Hammer, including the theme song which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the last instrumental song to do so until 2013. The theme also won the 1986 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition & Best Pop Instrumental Performance. The album topped both the Canadian album charts & the US Billboard 200, the latter for eleven weeks, making it the most successful TV soundtrack until 2006, when it was beaten by High School Musical. The album was certified 4x platinum in the US & triple platinum in Canada, & would be followed up by two sequels.
