1998 Canadian release of the movie soundtrack, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the film. It’s become of the best selling soundtracks of all time, and upon it’s original release in 1978 it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song (Hopelessly Devoted To You), as well as two Golden Globe nominations, also for Best Original Song, this time for “Grease” & “You’re The One That I Want”. It was further nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The album peaked at number one in virtually every country tracked, including The UK, The US, & Canada, and was 9x platinum in the UK, 13x platinum in the US, and diamond in Canada. Due to the importance of Olivia Newton-John, it was 14x platinum in Australia, a healthy contribution to an estimated global sales of over 30 million copies.
