Fifth studio album by the Irish band. It was inspired by their experiences in the US, & contrasts their feelings for “mythic” versus “real” America. The first two released singles, “With Or Without You” & “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” were the band’s first and only number one singles in the US. The album won the Grammy for Album of the Year & Best Rock Performance by Duo or Group, and charted number one in the US, Canada, numerous European countries, as well as New Zealand. It’s certified 14x platinum in that country, and is diamond in both the US & Canada.
