Led Zeppelin — IV

Fourth studio album from the English band, ostensibly untitled but usually referred to as Led Zeppelin IV. In lieu of a title each member of the band picked a symbol to represent them. These can be found on the inside sleeve. As a guest artist (vocals on “Battle of Evermore”) Sandy Denny was also allowed to pick a symbol, which appears next to her name also on the inner sleeve. Most of the music was written by the band as per usual, with “When The Levee Breaks” being a hard rock cover of a Memphis Minnie blues song. The album peaked a number one in the UK & Canada, & two in the US. Certified 24x platinum in the US, & a rare double diamond in Canada, a feat achieved by only a dozen or so other albums.
