Eighth studio album by the singer-songwriter. Five singles were released, including “R.O.C.K. In The USA”, which hit two on the Billboard Hot 100. Recorded at the artist’s own Belmont Mall Studios, Mellencamp reportedly played 100 different rock songs during rehearsals before recording the album. The album peaked at two on the Billboard 200, & two on the Canadian charts. It was also certified 5x platinum in both countries.
