Soundtrack recording from the 1983 film about a fictional New Jersey rock band. Music was by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, who were actually from Rhode Island, but who bore a striking resemblance in style to Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. Saxophone player Michael Antunes would also appear in the movie. Michael’s son Kevin would also work in the industry, notably as a music director for Madonna. Although the movie was only a moderate success, the soundtrack was more popular, & was rereleased in the fall of 1984 to coincide with the movie’s appearance on HBO. As a result the album went quadruple platinum, with the single “On The Dark Side” going to number one on a number of charts, & 7 on the Hot 100 chart.
