Jack Green — Humanesque

Debut album by the artist from Glasgow, Scotland, formerly of T. Rex. Track “I Call, No Answer” features Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple on lead guitar. Brian Chatton, the keyboard player on the album, was earlier in a band called Flaming Youth, with a pre-Genesis Phil Collins on drums. Perhaps ironically the closing track “This Is Japan”, was popular in Australia, peaking as a single in that country at 35, helping to lift the album to chart at 68. After an Edmonton, Alberta radio host heard the album it enjoyed relatively heavy airplay in the area, helping it to become popular in that province, more so than the rest of the country. As a result, based mostly on Alberta sales, the album was certified gold in Canada.
