Second studio album by the artist from Long Branch, New Jersey, released later in the same year as his debut. Popular with most critics it was noted for having less of a folk influence than his debut album, in favour of a more straightforward rock & roll sound. Commercial success would have to wait until Springsteen’s next album, his first that gave him national exposure, when listeners outside of the American northeast would get the chance to discover this album for the first time as well. Certified double platinum in the US.
