2015 reissue of the 1969 release, the ninth studio album for the artist. Continues the immersion into country music that began with the previously released John Wesley Harding, this albums features guest performers Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, & Fred Carter Jr. Three singles were included, including “Lay, Lady, Lay”, which was originally written for the soundtrack to Midnight Cowboy, but not submitted in time to be included. The album peaked at 3 on the Billboard 200, & certified platinum in the US, and gold in Canada.
